Send the product details, not just the box count
Include the product name or link, how many items need assembly, and the intended room for each. If you have the instructions, send a link or describe where they can be found. Mention whether an item is new, partly assembled or being reassembled after a move.
Check for visibly damaged packaging and any missing parts you already know about. You do not need to unpack every component just to make the enquiry. If a replacement part is still on order, tell us before a date is discussed.
Explain access and working space
Say where the boxes are stored and whether there are stairs, a lift or restricted parking. Mention any help needed to move existing furniture. Carrying heavy boxes between floors and removing old furniture should be agreed rather than assumed to be part of assembly.
- Give the postcode and the floor where the work will take place.
- Mention whether the intended room is clear enough to work in.
- Provide approximate room dimensions for tall or wide furniture.
- Identify other repair tasks you would like considered in the same visit.
Mention wall-fixing requirements
If the manufacturer’s instructions require wall anchoring, tell us and include a photo of the intended position. The wall, item and suitable fixings need assessment together. WMB discusses this as part of the scope; a photograph alone does not establish what is behind the wall.
Do not drill holes or alter the product to prepare for the visit. Keep the instructions and supplied fittings available so the assembly and any agreed anchoring can be planned properly.
Confirm what the quotation includes
Ask whether the agreed work includes assembly, positioning, suitable wall fixing, moving boxes or removing packaging. These are separate practical tasks and may affect time and price. Maintenance labour starts from £70 per hour depending on location, with materials and parts separate.
Send the details through the Furniture assembly option. If you do not know how long it will take, choose Not sure yet. The enquiry starts a discussion; the scope, price and appointment are confirmed separately.
